3 Year Update Maggie
DAILY ROUTINE:
You usually wake up between 8:00 and 9:30 in the morning. We get you dressed, brush your teeth, then head down to breakfast (where Mommy does your hair), then depending on the day we do our activity.
You have a snack mid morning during or right after the activity and then we have lunch around noon. We try to get you down for a nap around 1130 -noon if you are going to nap otherwise you don't nap anymore. Your nap time is most commonly just quiet time where you hang out in your room and play quietly on your own and I usually bring you a snack around 2 and give you the choice to come downstairs and play or stay in your room and play. Typically you want to stay in your room.
We either go to the park or you watch TV while Mommy gets everything going for dinner. Dinner is usually around 6 or 7.
After dinner we hang out with Muti usually this involves playtime with Muti or bath time with Muti. Then at 8:00 we start your bedtime routine.
Your Bedtime Routine:
Go upstairs and get on your jammies and night time diaper
Drink warm milk, hold your pacis while you get 3 books read to you that you pick out
Brush your teeth
Then we do our night time prayer and off go the lights.
FOOD:
SLEEP:
You are just not a great sleeper. You still do not consistently sleep through the night. You still have your paci's and God knows how those will fall to the wayside.
You are hopping, jumping, running, dancing, spinning.. and twirling which must not be confused with spinning!! You are even pedaling around on your tricycle from time to time!
You articulate your words so well, and you use complete sentences. You are even starting to use correct pronouns!! You are just so smart!
You laugh at so many things, the dogs and baby brother are always funny. You like to call us "silly" when we are playing around! You still love being tickled and you also love being chased!!
YOUR FAVORITE TOY:
Your favorite "toy" is probably Goldie Bear, but you also like to play with Calico Critters and Blocks! You have started to do role playing with your toy people and animals.
The brown tips are still there but you have to really look for them, I know once you get your next trim they will be gone since they are only about an inch and half in length. I have pondered getting it trimmed just to even it out but can't bring myself to do it. Your hair is all the way down your back and I love to put different styles of braids in when you are patient enough to let me do it! You always get such wonderful compliments when we succeed!
EYE COLOR:
Your eyes are definitely blue and pretty as can be!

*Don't worry you didn't shrink, measuring your height isn't very accurate as they lay you down and mark off the end of your feet and the top of your head with a pencil then measure. Chances are your 9 month measurement was off or your 12 month you had a bend in your knees or something.
**At 2 yrs you get put into a different age range for growth charting, the first listed (24 months) is based off the 0-24 month growth chart group, the second (2 Yrs) is based of the 2-20 yrs growth chart group. They also start measuring your BMI at 2 yrs.

6 Month Update Sebastian
DAILY ROUTINE:
You still usually wake up happy. First thing in the morning you watch Your Baby Can Read while you sit in your office. You then explore and play on the floor until you feel hungry. You nurse and usually nod off and nap. When you wake up it is usually during your sister's quiet time so we have Mommy and Son time where we talk, tickle and giggle. Then you usually nurse. Then we are hanging out with your big sister watching her play outside or you are playing along side her inside. Then it is nursing and another nap. When you wake up from your nap you hang out with Mommy & Muti for dinner then it is bath time/ bed time.
FOOD:
Exclusively breast fed! We have delayed starting you on solids only because we are still searching for a used Stokke High Chair that matches your sisters. Soon enough though.
SLEEP:
Night: Bedtime for you starts around 8 you typically fall asleep between 830pm and 930pm. You are sticking with your pattern usually around 2/3 AM and the again around 6/7 AM, then you usually sleep until 830 or 9 in the morning.
Day: You are now starting to go down for your 1st nap at around 1030/11 this is usually a short nap that is only about 30 minutes to an hour. Sometime between 230 and 530 you will go down for your second nap the earlier you go down the longer you seem to sleep. You are usually awake by 630pm at the latest.
MILESTONES:
You are doing the army crawl like mad, this method has proven very effective for getting you to where you want to go. However, In the last few days you have started to pull yourself up to your knees and you are starting to do the pre-crawl rock. You still haven't sat up unassisted but when you are sitting up you are starting to be able to keep your balance. You are really close to pulling yourself up on to your knees so much so we are getting ready to drop your crib mattress a little lower.
WHAT'S FUNNY:
You like to smile at your big sister, the dogs and Mommy and Muti! We get you to laugh by making "shushing" sounds aggressively while bouncing you... Muti can get you to laugh by tickling you in a certain spot on your side towards your back right along your rib cage. Maggie makes you laugh by blowing raspberries right in your face.
YOUR FAVORITE TOY:
You really seem to gravitate towards cars and blocks and anything you can bang on a hard surface. As much as we enjoy watching you with the matchbox cars we have set them out of reach so you don't choke on them so you will have to wait a little longer before you get to enjoy them.
CLOTHES SIZE:
You can still wear 3-6 month pants for the most part but are now wearing pretty much ALL 6-9 month clothes!
HAIR COLOR:
Your hair is really starting to grow in.. but it is more blonde than strawberry blonde.
EYE COLOR:
They are BLUE!!

Love Bug is in Preschool
Life happens so fast, it is milestones like this that really catch you off guard. My baby is a preschooler, complete with lunchbox, a classroom and 2 wonderful teachers!
I did not cry... I held them in and survived her first day. She did cry... about the outfit and the backpack... about my million attempts of getting a good 1st day photo that failed. But she didn't cry about school until she was leaving school. Enjoy our 1st day photos!
